Onias Landveld(1985 Paramaribo) is a Dutch playwright, writer, poet and spoken word artist. In 2015 he won the Dutch Spoken Word awards for storytelling. From 2017 until 2019 he was the poet laureate of the city of Tilburg in the Netherlands.
In the following years he developed his craft, which resulted in Roots and Cassava. A one man show about identity, slavery, assimilation and the position of a black man in the Netherlands. In Roots and Cassava he effortlessly weaves his love of storytelling, theater and spoken word together to tell a compelling story.
Onias has participated in several exhibitions for the Dutch National archive and several museums. He is also teaches storytelling at the Radboud University in the Netherlands.
As an artist he has performed in Ghana, Nigeria, The Caribbean and several parts of Europe.
